Recalling to those final test days, I sat behind my chair beside the window. The breezing fresh air peeked in every day on those week, well sometimes it rained. I’ve been enjoying those fresh air blowing on my dry skin when my friend asked me to go to this art space called Jakarta Biennale. Somehow that name was quite familiar. Without thinking too much, I replied,
“Nice idea! Don’t talk bull okay?”
“Okay. Believe me we will go there on christmas holiday!”
To make it clearer let me brief you about a trend in my school. Recently, my schoolmates (especially girls) tend to visit certain places just because they want to take ‘artsy’ (a word every people use to explain organized aesthetics) pictures. I feel that social media have a really huge impact to youth’s behavior. Well that’s my point of view.
Time flies until my second week of christmas holiday. I finally made the time to visit this art space with my classmate. It was burning hot that day. Plus, it was very humid. I mean, what else can I ask for? I knew that it was a huge mistake to wear a thick dress that day. But I have no choice and got along with it. Here’s some picture of the art space :

Panting 1 : A girl with red shirt holding on to a cable.

Just chillin’ on a swing inside the main building.

Painting 3 : Indonesian village.
The whole place was actually small but there’s so many art piece inside this building. Personally, I can’t understand what was the real meaning of the artworks. It was unfortunate that I don’t buy their catalog too.

Miniatures of collapsed buildings.

Photographs printed on plastic.

My friend laying on a 3D artwork.

A wall full of thrift clothing.

Watching reality clips.
That was a whole new experience for me. I got to see a lot of unique artworks and paintings. I think I’m going to make another plan to visit other art spaces. Leave your suggestion on the comment box 🙂
