The wind was blowing gently this morning here in Tangerang, Indonesia. Yes, Tangerang is my hometown since 1997-the year I was born. First, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Maria Francisca and currently I’m a grade 12 student in Santa Laurensia, Alam Sutra.
Looking back to 2010, I joined a community in my school called Adventure Club. From its name, you can say that it’s a community where students can explore the nature with their friends. I remembered the first time I went to a hiking trip to Mt.Gede which deplete an approximate 7 hours of walking on steep stairs. That was when I started to fall in love in doing adventure and photography. I realize that every moment of my life couldn’t be repeated forever.

Since my first year of junior high, I got a chance to travel a lot with my family. Every Eid Al-Fitr (a national holiday for muslims), my parents always booked tickets for me and my siblings to countries all over the world. For me, it was an amazing opportunity to broaden my knowledge about the ‘outside’ condition. And it was utterly true, I realized that each country have their own uniqueness in aspects like art and culture. Unfortunately on those time range, I didn’t have the opportunity to learn more about photography. I still remember when I was told to take night scene pictures and all of them were blur.
Along with my hobby on traveling and adventure, I took an extracurricular on photography on grade 8. Honestly, the class for the whole year was completely useless. Therefore, I took a photography class in Darwis Triadi School of Photography on 2015. Well, this is another checkpoint in my life. I learned numerous amount of photography techniques. I was engrossed by the power of camera’s lens. Ever since, I have more desire to explore each part of the world, especially Indonesia.
I’ve been planning to make my own blog since last year but I was too busy with my school work and I always postponed things behind. But here I am now, sitting in my desk and feel really happy that this blog finally launched. My new year resolution is to travel more and take more photos. What’s yours?
